Success
We need to set audacious goals for our students in Reading and Math proficiency, and then focus all efforts to exceed those goals. The purpose of DPS is to educate -- so this has to be our primary focus.
Teacher and Staff Retention
Better, more reliable pay is only the start. We need to build a culture within DPS that recognizes professional excellence and enables teachers and staff to do their best work in service of students.
Fiscal Accountability
We must be good stewards of our finite resources. Every dollar we spend must be tied to a measurable outcome.
While parents and teachers have many more specific -- and justified -- concerns, establishing a solid foundation in these areas will provide the basis for further change.
